Callaway family papers, 1875-1980.

The collection consists of papers of the Fuller Earle Callaway family of Troup County, Georgia from 1875-1980. The papers include business papers, personal papers, and architectural drawings. The business papers (1876-1969) contain letter press copies of Callaway's outgoing correspondence (1909-1910); weekly financial and cotton summary reports of Callaway Mills (1910-1932); trademark records (1939-1942), lists of directors and superintendents of the mills; scrapbooks of newspaper clippings about Callaway and the mills (1924-1952); and photographs of the mills, mill founders, foremen, and supervisors. Some of the mills include Unity Cotton Mills (LaGrange, Ga.), Milstead Manufacturing (Milstead, Ga.), Elm City Cotton Mills (LaGrange, Ga.), and Manchester Cotton Mills (Manchester, Ga.).

Fuller Earle Callaway (1870-1928), cotton manufacturer, banker, real estate developer, merchant, and philanthropist. He was a life-long resident of Troup County and the founder of Callaway Mills.
